I think what we're seeing here is tremendous growth in composition. Much more fluid and mature in terms of style and form than a lot of the previous work. While I think the playing could have been better in this recording, it's obvious that it's not an easy piece to get through. But it does show all that time in class is paying off. Less derivative and more towards finding a personal voice. Bravo, Jul!

This is a much higher quality recording, way better than most things I've heard here. The player (was it you? This is a clarinet, right?) missed a few notes, or just sort of played them sour, it seemed. I could be wrong, though. I don't know much about these kind of compostions, but I thought it was a light, quizzical/fun sounding song. Thumbs up!

When I found out that this was recorded live, after hearing the applause, I was surprised because it sounded more like a studio recording. A big improvement in the sound. And you wrote this? You brainy person, you. o.o

This is another piece where I appreciate it as a solo work but can't help letting my mind expand the instrumentation. I can imagine a contrabass, some trombone, some percussion, some sax. Again, I am more jazz/blues oriented than classical so my instincts push me in that direction. I could see how this could be the base for a wonderfully exploratory jazz piece.

Oh man, this is great. That rhythmic bumbum-bum-bumbum idea is great, and I like the way you develop it toward the end. Haha, I love that final note! Lots of great attitude Nodding
